Ventilation systems

The protection that the greenhouse roofing provides for the crops prevents harm caused by bad weather conditions outside - excessive insolation, low temperatures, heavy rain, strong winds, etc., but it also limits the renovation of air and slows its movement in the interior.

Air is employed in transpiration, respiration and photosynthesis. An appropriate rate of changing the interior air together with an adequate movement can provide optimum levels of temperature, hygrometric deficit and concentration of carbon dioxide uniformly throughout the volume of the greenhouse.

In Novedades Agrícolas S.A. we take the importance of ventilation in a greenhouse very seriously, and we have built up the experience and know-how to supply and install the ventilation systems best suited to your greenhouse. Our technical department will evaluate the conditions of your greenhouse, the conditioning factors of your crops, and offer you the best solution for a productive unit with maximum guarantee of success.

Natural ventilation systems (windows, doorways, roll-up panels, etc.):

The passive systems of natural ventilation consist of openings made in roofs, sides and/or fronts of greenhouses like windows, doorways, roll-up panels, etc., of different geometry and inclination, which, with the help of different mechanisms, can be opened and closed manually and/or automatically, under the control of the ventilation strategy of a climate controller.

The difference in temperature between the outside and inside of the greenhouse, and the pressure produced thereon by the wind, are the generators of air exchange and renewal in greenhouses with natural ventilation.

An adequate height of the greenhouse, an appropriate ratio between covered surface and installed ventilation surface and an appropriate system of doorways, make this method that most employed and most recommended for the majority of greenhouses and locations. A natural ventilation system has the following:

Windows: folding or tilting openings, etc., formed by different mechanical solutions that allow the support of the enclosure material used in the greenhouse assembly and its installation in the structure of the greenhouse.

Anti-trips screens: element that covers the surface of the window opening for the purpose of avoiding the intrusion of insect pests and preventing them from reaching the plants.

Traction Systems: sets of ironworks (axles, rack boxes, racks, couplings, etc.) and reduction gears (automatic drive), employed in the system for opening and closing windows.

Installation of electrification system for reduction-gear motors: it consists of electrical cabinets, with circuit protection devices, phase change safeguards, starters with automatic protection with rotation inverters, electric lines and conduits for transporting power and the control of the opening and closing of each set of windows.
